The Immersive French Language Experience

ABOUT L'ECOLE

L'ECOLE offers a fresh and creative way to learn French in the beautiful medieval village of Tourrettes-sur-Loup. Perched in the foothills of the French Riviera overlooking the town of Antibes and the Mediterranean Sea and only 25 minutes from the international airport of Nice, L'ECOLE is a friendly conversation-based immersive experience for those with limited or no experience in speaking French. Our teachers are French nationals with experience teaching the French language at various levels.

Our Program

The program at L'ECOLE is a week-long course for a maximum of 8 students per week. The teacher-led program begins daily at 8 am (over a working breakfast) and continues until 12 noon when there is a two-hour break for lunch and relaxation in the village. Class begins again at 2 pm and continues until 6 pm followed by cocktails and a seated dinner at the villa. Dinner will be used as an opportunity to explore all things culinary - from French food and wine to table and restaurant etiquette, deciphering menus and tipping.

There will also be teacher-led afternoon visits around the village of Tourrettes as well as to local attractions like the world-renowned Fondation Maeght art museum in Saint Paul de Vence, the Picasso Museum in Antibes and the Fragonard Perfume Museum in Grasse. Private yoga and wellness programs can also be arranged at the villa upon request.

In a relaxed and informal setting, all activities including afternoon excursions will be conducted in French. Our ultimate goal at L'ECOLE is for students to reach confidence and ease in basic French conversation, moving beyond the typical tourist frustration of trying to recall a few French words on each new trip.

Le Mas du Cassan

L'ECOLE is headquartered in the charming Mas du Cassan, an authentic Provençal villa in the very heart of the village of Tourrettes. Students are housed at the villa with breakfast and dinner prepared and served daily. The villa is equipped with double rooms and private bathrooms as well as a garden apartment with private kitchen that sleeps three. There is also a heated pool, jacuzzi and private pétanque court.

The village of Tourrettes-sur-Loup has been used as the location for many famous films over the years including Alfred Hitchcock's "To Catch A Thief". The site for Cary Grant's villa in the film is in fact just across the ravine from the Mas du Cassan (about 150 meters). The village of Tourrettes can be seen behind Cary Grant in the photograph below.
